aptDigital Weekly (#5): What’s your close rate?

Newsletter

Jul 26

Hi, I’m Alex and this is the aptDigital weekly newsletter. Let’s use sales, marketing, and strategy to help your appliance repair business grow.

Pro Tip: Track your close rate.

I recently described how to calculate your average lead value. In order to do so you’ll need to know your average close rate, which is calculated as the number of service calls you book divided by the total number of leads you receive.

If you’re tracking inbound leads then you can reference those numbers against the booked calls in your scheduling system. If you’re not tracking these things (you should be!) then ask yourself “on average, out of every 10 leads how many book a service call?”.

Send me a message if you’d like help calculating your own AGR. I’d be happy to help.

Last Week’s Roundtable:

I host a free weekly Zoom call for appliance repair technicians and appliance repair business owners. It’s a ‘no pressure’ place and time to talk with each other about whatever is on your mind.

This week’s recording: https://youtu.be/NL0iVcz6V3E

Highlights:

  • How to start paying yourself (7:30)
  • How to start recruiting & training (22:52)
  • The value of C.O.D. jobs over warranty work (38:10)
  • What’s your time worth? (49:00)

Send me a message if you’d like to attend an upcoming roundtable call. Otherwise, you can check out past recordings here or subscribe to my YouTube channel here.
